Buttercup

Buttercup is a 2005 15.3 hand Oldenburg X German Warmblood palomino mare by Blue Eyed Dream & Wrummy. Buttercup is registered and branded with the American Warmblood Registry and was awarded the status of First Premium Premier in her AWR inspection as a weanling. Buttercup is a refined ladies horse and has the gentle nature of her sire. She is just getting started driving and is pictured here at the Sumter County Arena Driving Trial showing Haut Concours because of her age. Buttercup will eventually be one of the leaders in our team of 4 golden palomino warmbloods, alongside her full brother Benji and her half-brother Monetgo

Buttercup was recently broke to ride and was a complete angel! She is doing w/t/c like a pro already! Keep a look out for this flashy girl in the dressage ring in the years to come!

*UPDATE*

November 2008: Buttercup and Marigold recently took part in a demonstration on "how to start a tandem" at the Florida Whips Workshop weekend, and did a beautiful job!

October 2008: Buttercup and Marigold recently were able to be hitched up as part of a 4 in-hand driving team alongside two pro 4 in-hand horses! It was a great learning experience for our two girls and they took to it beautifully. Buttercup was put as a leader and Marigold as a wheeler, which will hopefully be their future positions in our team of 4!

Summer 2008:
Buttercup has recently been broke to drive as a pair alongside one of our other mares Marigold. The two are doing beautifully together and this is serving to be great training for Buttercup as she will be pairing up with Montego next spring and will be able to teach him the ropes!

We are expecting 2 foals from Buttercup in 2009, both foals wil be via embryo transfer so that Buttercup can continue her training. Both foals will be sired by the hanoverian Liberty Gold. These foals will have a 50% chance of being palomino and a 50% chance of being chestnut. Liberty Gold is a 16.2 hand chestnut stallion by Londonderry by Walida (by Weltmyer). Double Champion of both his Stallion Licensing in Verden and of the 11 month performance test at Adelheidsdorf, Germany. In 2005 he was awarded Grand Champion at Devon.  In 2003 at his licensing Liberty took highest honors, excelling in his basic gaits, free jumping, confirmation, and overall suppleness. In 2004 he was victorious at Adelheidsdorf with a dressage index of 147.75 and an overall score of 140.93.  When the final scores were tallied, we were astonished with his results:  Liberty Gold scored 9.33 on trot, 9.5 on canter, 8 on walk, 9 on Character and Temperament, 9.667 on Rideability, and a 9 on his willingness to work. We cannot wait for these wonderful Liberty Gold offspring to arrive!
